Digital content, what does it do, and why is it missing?

A concept that is not easy to grasp, is that most decisions we make are in fact based on emotion, and we rationalise those emotionally based decisions later, and logically, after the fact! Somehow, we seem to believe that people make decisions from a rational viewpoint, and then feel good about it after the decision.

Very few people in fact make decisions from logic……..because our emotions are so ingrained that we cannot separate them from our concious mind…… it is impossible to think about anything without an emotional stream of feelings entering into our thoughts and reactions….and these feelings are the driving force behind our decisions, particularly when responding to advertising or marketing, and if our offer is boring, dull, dry, with imagery taken on a compact camera, low resolution, badly framed, over or under exposed and NOT showing the big benefits of our product or service…………. it is doomed to fail!

If you’re thinking to yourself, "my customers are far too sophisticated to fall for this emotion in my marketing"…all I can say is that every business person, every customer….is a person first, just like you and me, with the same goals, desires and wants…and all people will respond to advertising…but only if it hits their emotional wants!

So, we need to lose our preconceived ideas and concentrate on the fact that we need to find the right emotional buttons, then emphasise and prove those buttons with imagery that makes them think "WOW"
